
Erin Manning is a cultural theorist and political philosopher as well as a practicing artist in the areas of dance, fabric design, and interactive installation. She is Research Chair in Relational Art and Philosophy, professor in both the Department of Studio Arts and at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema, and head of the SenseLab at the Concordia University, Montreal. Recent books include The Minor Gesture and For a Pragmatics of the Useless. 3E is the direction her current research takes – an exploration of the transversality of the three ecologies, the social, the environmental and the conceptual (3ecologies.org).
She will participate in the Cross-Disciplinary Symposium.
