It’s still unbearably hot, like standing inside a furnace. Light streams through the tattered roof of the factory. Countless birds flutter about, each beat of their wings stirring the dust to dance in the desert light. A deafening chorus of cries fills the air. Shadows flicker across the ground with every wingbeat. A melancholic veil settles over my heart.
